Alan was a member of the Dáil (lower House of the Irish Parliament) for twenty-one years and during his political career served as the Irish Minister for Agriculture, Finance, Justice and Transport and Energy and Communications. Alan was Leader of the Fine Gael Party for three years and was Chairman of the Irish Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee. He is a former Governor of the International Monetary Fund and a former Governor of the World Bank.
As Chairman of Asia Matters, he is strongly committed to the importance of two way benefits in Asia Ireland bilateral trade relations.
Chief Executive, Enterprise Ireland
Prior to her appointment to CEO in November 2013, Julie held a number of senior public sector positions, spanning a 30 year career in Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland.
Julie is a member of the Board and Investment Committee of Enterprise Ireland. Julie has served on the Investment Committee of the Irish Strategic Investment Fund, part of the National Treasury Management Agency, since 2015, having been appointed by the then Minister for Finance, Michael Noonan.
Julie is a business graduate of the University of Ulster, has a Masters in International Business (Fordham and IMI) and is a graduate of the Stanford Executive Programme, USA.
Managing Director & Global Head BlackRock Real Assets
BlackRock Real Assets comprises the Infrastructure and Real Estate businesses, which have 375+ professionals across 25 cities globally, and manage over $40 billion in equity and debt assets and investor commitments.
Mr. Barry also serves as the Global Head of BlackRock's Infrastructure business, which he founded in 2011 and since then has expanded the platform's strategies to include European and North American Infrastructure Debt strategies, an Infrastructure Solutions offering, and a Mexico focused equity strategy.
Mr. Barry earned a BComm from University College Cork in 1989 and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1994.
Chief Executive, Tourism Ireland
Niall Gibbons was appointed Chief Executive of Tourism Ireland in June 2009. Since his appointment, Niall has overseen the marketing of Ireland as a tourism destination across the world, leading a team of 150 staff in 23 markets. He has steered Tourism Ireland’s development in the digital arena, including the launch of Ireland.com, and its emergence as a leader in digital marketing and in the social media space.
He has led Tourism Ireland’s expansion into emerging tourism markets such as China and India, as well as the development of Tourism Ireland’s ‘Global Greening’ initiative, which has brought tourism to the heart of St Patrick’s Day celebrations across the world. Niall is a business graduate of Trinity College Dublin.
Chief Executive Chambers Ireland
Ian Talbot has been Chief Executive of Chambers Ireland since 2008. Prior to this appointment, Ian held positions as a Director of Citigroup and JP Morgan Chase in Ireland for 18 years. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse where he spent several years working in their Dublin and Luxembourg offices and also holds MA and BBS degrees from Trinity College, Dublin. He is Deputy President of Eurochambres – the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and also the chair of its Finance and Economy Policy Committee.
Divisional Manager Growth Markets, IDA Ireland
Eileen Sharpe joined IDA Ireland as an overseas marketing executive in Hong Kong in 1996. She is now a member of IDA Ireland’s Executive Leadership Team and she has strategic responsibility for all of IDA Ireland’s activities in Growth Markets, Europe, Emerging Business, New forms of Investment as well as IDA’s Product Development and Transformation Team.
Eileen is a member of IDA Ireland’s Executive Decision Making Committees including the Management Investment Committee, The Executive Leadership Committee, The Property Management Committee and IDA Ireland’s Management Committee.
Director of Markets, Bord Bia (Irish Food Board)
Padraig Brennan holds the position of Director of Markets with Bord Bia – Irish Food Board. This involves the management of Bord Bia’s 13 international offices and implementing the Board’s international marketing and promotion programme for food and drink. Padraig also manages Bord Bia’s Industry Talent Development Programme.
Prior to his current role Padraig was Sustainability Development Manager in Bord Bia and led the development and implementation of Bord Bia’s Origin Green Sustainability programme.
Padraig is from a family farming background, holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science from University College Dublin (UCD) and a Masters in Business Development from the University of Western Australia.
Chief Executive Officer, Ibec
Danny McCoy is CEO at Ibec, the group that represents Irish business. Prior to joining Ibec he was a Senior Research Officer at the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) and an economist in the Central Bank of Ireland.
He has held lecturing posts at Dublin City University, University College London, University of Oxford and Trinity College Dublin. He was a research associate at the Centre for Social and Economic Research on the Global Environment (CSERGE) in London. He has been a visiting lecturer at the IMD Business School in Switzerland and Harvard University in the US.
Danny is a regular contributor in the print and broadcast media and has written columns for the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times and the Irish Times among other international newspapers. The Irish Times recently described Danny as one of the ‘50 people who runs Ireland’.
Dr. Graham Love
Chief Executive, Higher Education Authority
Dr. Graham Love is the Chief Executive of the Higher Education Authority. Previously he led the Health Research Board and held senior management positions in a variety of organisations including Science Foundation Ireland and Accenture. He is a former member of the Science Gallery Board, Science Europe’s Governing Council and Enterprise Ireland’s Industrial Research & Commercialisation Committee.
Managing Director, Microsoft Business Operations – International
James has strategic responsibility for Microsoft International Operations, leading a diverse team across EMEA and Asia. Supporting sales enablement, regional revenue processing, launch of products and services and optimising internal processes, the team is focused on driving end-to-end Customer and Partner experience, with the overall mission to make doing business with Microsoft easy.
James is a former President, now a board member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ireland, a member of the Governing Body of Dublin Institute of Technology, a Board Member of Junior Achievement and of ADAPT (The Global Centre of Excellence for Digital Content and Media Innovation).

Elaine is a Managing Partner of Atlantic Bridge an Irish founded Technology Growth Equity Fund and the China Ireland Growth Technology Fund, which is focused on investing and helping Irish Technology companies to scale in China. The China Ireland Growth Technology Fund is backed by China Investment Corp which is the World’s 4th largest investor and the Irish Strategic Investment Fund.
Elaine has over 24 years of experience in scaling technology companies; including successful investments and realizations of Irish companies such as Swrve, Movidius, Decawave, Fieldaware and Novaerus.
Named as one of Europe’s Top 50 Inspiring Women in Technology, Elaine is also a Board member of Enterprise Ireland.
Mr Wei Xu
Chairman of the Chinese Association of Chinese Enterprises in Ireland and General Manager ICBC International Leasing Ltd.
Since 2015, Wei Xu has been the Chairman of the Chinese Association of Chinese Enterprises in Ireland. Furthermore, he is also the General Manager of ICBC International Leasing in Dublin.
Prior to this, he held senior management roles in Hong Kong and Beijing and was the key business representative for Chinese Enterprises in Canada. He previously held the role of Global HR Head of ICBC Financial Leasing based in Beijing.
Wei is a graduate of University of Peking in China, and holds an MBA from Fordham University, New York, USA.
